Where does Ironman 70.3 Ireland take place?
Ironman 70.3 Ireland will take place in and around the scenic city of Galway beginning with a 1.9Km swim in the waters of Galway Bay. Next, athletes will take on a challenging 90Km bike course that travels through the beautiful countryside and provides views of Connemara and the Burren along the way. On the spectator-friendly run course through Galway, athletes pass a number of iconic landmarks before finishing in Salthill.

Swim/Bike/Run course maps will be available in the course section of the web site, please note that these are subject to change in consultation with the authorities and operational requirements.

Registration

Do I need to qualify, validate or confirm my entry by completing another event?
No, competitors do not need to qualify or validate to enter Ironman 70.3 Ireland. However, we do suggest competing in a shorter distance triathlon event before race day.

Is there a waiting list for the races when they are sold out?
No, we don’t offer a waiting list.

Are there age requirements?
Entrants must be 18 years of age on race day.

How do I withdraw from Ironman 70.3 Ireland?

Withdrawal Procedure
Option 1.) Transfer
Athletes can transfer their race entry according to the “Race Transfer Policy” – please read the details here.

Option 2.) Withdrawal
Cancellation notices received:
Until May 2nd, 2012: 50% refund
Until July 2nd, 2012: 25% refund
After July 2nd, 2012: no refunds or transfers will be given. This policy is not dependant on circumstances and is final.

NB Special products such as extra tickets, DVDs or VIP-Tickets will be refunded until July 2nd from July 3rd the special products are not refundable.
It is not possible to defer your entry to another year or another athlete. The 5% Active fee is non-refundable.
Your cancellation will be confirmed via email and can take up to 28 days to process
Refunds are credited back to the card with which you originally paid.

What will I wear in the swim?
Ironman 70.3 Ireland is a wetsuit compulsory event. A race kit may be worn underneath the wetsuit.

What are the cut off times?
Swim: 1 hr 10 mins after last race start
Bike: 5 hr 30 mins after last race start
Run: 8 hrs 30 mins after last race start

Qualifying

How many qualifying slots are there for  Ironman 70.3 World Championship?
There will be up to thirty-five (35) qualifying slots for the 2013 Ironman 70.3 World Championship awarded to the top age group finishers.
