Bike Course
Bike Course Description
The bike course is fast and has no more than 500 metres of climbing overall. The course is an out and back style mainly on the N59 from Galway to Maam Cross. At present the final 2012 course is subject to amendment in discussions with the local highway authorities but should not change substantially.

Road by Road
The bike course will leave the transition area at the bottom of Salthill Park and head East on the Upper Salthill Road. The course proceeds along St Marys Road and Newcastle Road. The course turns right onto Distillery Road and travels under the N6 via the university. Bikes then join the N59 via Upper Newcastle Road and continue on the N59 through Moycullen and Oughterard to a turn point at Maam Cross. The return leg comes back the same way and back to dismount just before Salthill Park.
